NM Comunidades en Acción y de Fé Announces New Executive Director
LAS CRUCES, NM – NM Comunidades en Acción y de Fe (CAFé) is excited to announce that Sylvia Ulloa has joined its team as the new Executive Director.
Sylvia Ulloa comes to NM CAFé from the Las Cruces office of Senator Martin Heinrich, where she was a field representative covering border and immigration issues, education, health care and economic development in southern New Mexico. Before that, Sylvia had an extensive career in journalism in California, Texas, and New Mexico, including as editor of the Las Cruces Sun-News and as an education reporter for the online investigative journalism website New Mexico in Depth.
“My family comes from the Mesilla Valley and my dad in Ciudad Juarez, and because of them I believe in our peoples’ strength and resilience. The key to making New Mexico a better place to build a life and raise a family lies in harnessing their power. That’s why I am thrilled to join NM CAFé, which has a strong legacy of fighting for justice.” — Sylvia Ulloa, Executive Director, NM Comunidades en Acción y de Fe.
NM CAFé is a network of diverse religious institutions and community broad-based organizations across Southern New Mexico committed to building relational power with and for Southern New Mexicans who have been directly impacted by systems of injustice.
