Ramadan Mubarak to our Musilm kindred, Happy Easter to our Christian kindred, and Happy Passover to our Jewish kindred. This year, three major religious holidays overlapped one another, which only happens every 30 years!
We are grateful for the wonderful opportunity for people of different faiths to come together and celebrate our shared values of hope, renewal, and compassion.
Ramadán Mubarak a nuestros parientes musulmanes, feliz Pascua a nuestros parientes cristianos y feliz Pascua a nuestros parientes judíos. Este año, tres importantes festividades religiosas se superpusieron, ¡lo que solo ocurre cada 30 años!
Estamos agradecidos por la maravillosa oportunidad de que personas de diferentes religiones se reúnan y celebren nuestros valores compartidos de esperanza, renovación y compasión.
NM CAFe Strategic Planning / NM CAFe Planificación Estratégica
NM Comunidades en Acción y de Fe staff and Board of Directors, finalized our 2023 Strategic Plan. Together we finalized a new mission, vision, and set of values for the organization.
They are as follows:
Our mission: To unlock the collective power of the people in Southern New Mexico.
Our vision: We envision a world where everyone belongs, can thrive, is treated justly and with respect; where everyone has a voice in decisions that shape their lives for the betterment of all persons and families in our communities.

El personal y la Junta Directiva de NM Comunidades en Acción y de Fe finalizaron nuestro Plan Estratégico 2023. Juntos finalizamos una nueva misión, visión y conjunto de valores para la organización.
Son los siguientes:
Nuestra misión: Desbloquear el poder colectivo de la gente en el sur de Nuevo México.
Nuestra visión:Visualizamos un mundo donde todos pertenecen, pueden prosperar, son tratados con justicia y respeto; donde todos tienen voz en las decisiones que dan forma a sus vidas para el mejoramiento de todas las personas y familias en nuestras comunidades.

Community Outreach Event Highlights / Puntos destacados del evento de alcance comunitario
We would like to highlight some community events NM CAFe has been a part of over the past few weeks, which included: visits to high schools in the local area, the ENLACE health fair, Selena Quintanilla Day hosted by New Mexico State University Chicano Programs and MoringStar Church Spring Carnival in collaboration with the Las Cruces Space Festival.
NM CAFe visited Centennial High School, as well as Chaparral High School to talk to students about our developing youth cohort led by community organizer Allyssa Wright. Allyssa had the opportunity to talk about what CAFe does, what we have done, and youth organizing. Students also had the opportunity to participate in a creative art project as well as discuss what research projects they are working on. We look forward to seeing youth and young adults be more active in their community through the development of this youth cohort!
Nos gustaría destacar algunos eventos comunitarios de los que NM CAFe ha sido parte durante las últimas semanas, que incluyeron: visitas a escuelas secundarias en el área local, la feria de salud ENLACE, el Día de Selena Quintanilla organizado por los Programas Chicanos de la Universidad Estatal de Nuevo México y Carnaval de Primavera de la Iglesia MoringStar en colaboración con el Festival Espacial de Las Cruces.
NM CAFe visitó Centennial High School, así como también Chaparral High School para hablar con los estudiantes sobre nuestro grupo de jóvenes en desarrollo dirigido por la organizadora comunitaria Allyssa Wright. Allyssa tuvo la oportunidad de hablar sobre lo que hace CAFe, lo que hemos hecho y la organización de jóvenes. Los estudiantes también tuvieron la oportunidad de participar en un proyecto de arte creativo y de discutir en qué proyectos de investigación están trabajando. ¡Esperamos ver a los jóvenes y adultos jóvenes ser más activos en su comunidad a través del desarrollo de este grupo de jóvenes!
NM CAFe Organizing Training / NM CAFe Organizando Entrenamiento
In collaboration with Troy Jackson from Faith in Action, NM CAFe hosted an organizing training with key leaders in Doña Ana County at Peace Lutheran Church.
Leaders were trained on the organizing frameworks and formed organizing groups to build our base.
Leaders and organizers will be having one on ones, training, and inviting others to a Regional Training in Las Cruces, NM in June 2023. This program is in conjunction with our national network, Faith in Action.
NM CAFe is building relational power within Southern New Mexico with key institutions that include: parents, faith leaders,schools, community organizations, and youth.
En colaboración con Troy Jackson de Faith in Action, NM CAFe organizó una capacitación de organización con líderes claves en el condado de Doña Ana en la Iglesia Luterana de la Paz.
Los líderes fueron capacitados en los marcos de organización y formaron grupos de organización para construir nuestra base.
Los líderes y organizadores se reunirán, capacitarán e invitarán a otros a un entrenamiento regional en Las Cruces, Nuevo México, en junio de 2023. Este programa se realiza en conjunto con nuestra red nacional, Faith in Action.
NM CAFe está construyendo poder relacional dentro del sur de Nuevo México con instituciones clave que incluyen: padres, líderes religiosos, escuelas, organizaciones comunitarias y jóvenes.
