Vanessa is a multiracial woman from El Paso, TX. She currently has lived in Las Cruces for the past 10 years. In May she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in social work from NMSU where she became involved with CAFe Acción and NM CAFe. She believes in equality and social justice because growing up it was hard for her just because she was surrounded by individuals that couldn’t relate to her or even resemble her. However, being different and living in a low-income environment growing up has given her the strength she needs to keep fighting for future generations.
